I would repeat the point that I was prepared to represent to the Secretary of State I thought jobs and investment should be a criteria. I didn't know what the Secretary of State was going to do in the next day. In fact, I was rather surprised by it. My view was it might go to the Competition Commission or whatever, where representations would be made. So I didn't know what the Secretary of State was going to do the next day. I didn't even at that stage on the 2nd know he was going to do it on that day, at least not to my knowledge.

But in repeating the point that I was prepared to argue that the jobs and investment in Scotland issue should be considered as a valid issue to be considered, then I was perfectly prepared to do that whenever the time was appropriate. As we know, it was overtaken by events.
